Noch immer hallt es nach. Das „Festival Genialer Dilletanten“, von 1981 in Berlin. Vor allem im Umfeld von Kunsthochschulen entwickelte sich damals eine künstlerische Vehemenz, die durch genreübergreifendes Experimentnieren und den Einsatz neuer elektronische Geräte geprägt war. Musik drückte irgendwie auf die Leinwand.
Ziel des Kurses ist es, mit den vorhandenen Mitteln eine Art musikalisches Gefüge zu erzeugen. Über den Zufall zu Lösungen, oder über Improvisation zu einer Konzeption zu kommen, oder ein bereits vorhandenes Musikstück mit den vorhandenen Mitteln zu covern. Dem Ego, der kollektiven Autorenschaft den Vortritt lassen. Der Drang des Tuns ist stärker als die Suche nach Perfektion. Das „Richtige“ hinterfragen und dem Falschen einen Raum geben. Und anschließend die Öffentlichkeit damit konfrontieren.
Der Kurs wird sich grob in vier Abschnitte aufteilen, wobei das Hauptaugenmerk auf die PROBEN, der praktischen Arbeit, gelegt wird.

Musikalische Vorkenntnisse sind von Vorteil, wie auch ein eigenes Instrument, bzw. Equipment.
Der Kurs hat eine begrenzte Anzahl von Teilnehmer*innen und ist Teil des Ortsbezogenen Kunst Curriculums. Studierende aus anderen Abteilungen erhalten je nach Kapazität einen Platz.
Der Angewandte Festival Beitrag 2025 der Abteilung Ortsbezogene Kunst wird aus der Lehrveranstaltung „Brillant Dilettant (Impro)“ gespeist.

It still echoing. The ‘Festival Genialer Dilletanten’, from 1981 in Berlin. Back then, an artistic vehemence characterised by cross-genre experimentation and the use of new electronic devices was developing, particularly around art academies. Somehow, music made its way onto the canvas.
The aim of the course is to create a kind of musical structure with the available stuff. The urge to do is stronger than the search for perfection. Questioning the ‘right’ and giving space to the wrong. And then confront the public with it.
The course will be roughly divided into four sections, with the main focus on the REHEARSALS, the practical work.
