Class excursion, 5. – 8. May 2026
DAY 1:
• 11:00 a.m. WELCOME: Introduction, camp rules, schedule, check-in to tents
• 13:00 p.m. Lunch
• THEME OF THE DAY: ORIENTATION Introduction to orientation and navigation with compass and map
• Field exercises, Exploring the surroundings, river hike to the grotto, drawing
• 18:00 p.m. Dinner and Campfire
DAY 2:
• 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Breakfast
• 10:00 a.m. THEME OF THE DAY: WATER DISCOVERY – historical context,
introduction to white water rafting, equipment check & getting dressed
• Group 1: Canoe & kayak tour on the Schwarza
• Group 2: Rock jumping & white water swimming, local tubing
• Group 3: visit of the local fish farm
• Switch of groups at half time, lunch by the river (snack package)
• 18:00 p.m. Dinner, Fish from the local fish farm (invite the fish farmer)
DAY 3:
• 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. Breakfast
• 10:00 a.m. THEME OF THE DAY: MOUNTAINS/FORESTS/FORAGING/FOOD
• Herbology & alpine expedition to the Grubenfranzl in Schwarzau im Gebirge,
• Hike up to Falkenstein (invite director of the nature park, Sabine)
• Lunch on the mountain (snack)
• Gathering mushrooms and wild herbs, preparing bread (dough on a stick)
• 6:00 p.m. Wrap-up by the campfire with a barbecue: preparing bread (dough on a stick)
• Cooking a Holzknechtssterz at the Hubmer Hut, hut campfire, and preparing the gathered mushrooms,
herbs, etc.
DAY 4
• 9:00 a.m –10:00 a.m. Breakfast
• Packing up together

Departure at 11:18 BUS 341 from Singerin to Payerbach / Arrival at 11:28 Höllental Kaiserbrunn
THEME OF THE DAY: High-Alpine Water Pipeline
• 12:00 a.m. Museum of the High-Alpine Water Pipeline (with guided tour)
• Lunch (snack?)
