Liquid Loft kreiert Performances in enger Verbindung zur Praxis anderer Kunstformen. Über unterschiedliche Formate und Raumkonzepte hinweg entwickeln die Arbeiten darin eine eigenständige kenntliche Formensprache in professioneller tänzerischer Umsetzung. Choreografisches Handeln folgt Interessen, die über den Tanz hinausweisen, bleibt dabei aber immer Choreografie. Interdisziplinärer Austausch verweist nicht allein auf die produktive Differenz der ästhetischen Praxis in den jeweiligen Künsten, sondern schärft vielmehr den Blick für das gesellschaftliche Umfeld, in dem die Künste handeln. Der choreographische Prozess kehrt dabei immer wieder zurück in die Aufführungssituation.
Nicht wenige der künstlerischen Arbeiten enthalten installative Elemente oder bedienen sich der Formensprache anderer Genres, wie zB. der des Films. Diese Formate zu entwickeln sieht Liquid Loft als aktuelle und zeitgenössische Herausforderung.
Die Lecture fokussiert auf 2 fortlaufende Performance Serien:
In Foreign Tongues sind Sprachen, ehe sie noch „Sinn“ ergeben, erst einmal Sound und Rhythmus, ambivalente Klanginseln. Dialekte, Regionalsprachen und Slangs werden auf Basis von Dynamik, Betonung und akustischer Atmosphäre in Bewegungssequenzen übersetzt. Sprachmuster werden – im Zusammenspiel von Gefühl und Verstand – musikalisch erfasst und gestisch interpretiert. Was zunächst wie babylonisches Sprachengewirr erscheinen mag, wird durch die jeweilige körperliche Umsetzung im Raum zu einer Form der Verständigung, die viel mehr ist als ihr rein sprachlicher Gehalt.
Stand-Alones sind verschiedene solistische Bewegungssymphonien, die an unterschiedlichen Aufführungsorten erarbeitet und umgesetzt werden. Das Konzept wurde ursprünglich für das Leopold Museum Wien entwickelt und anschließend für Räume wie das Musée des Beaux-Arts Nancy und das Musée d’Art Moderne Paris adaptiert, gefolgt von Versionen im öffentlichen Raum. Das Ziel von Dreharbeiten im urbanen Raum bzw. im Kontext spezieller Architektur, sowie in der ländlichen Umgebung, war die Erweiterung der Performance-Serie zu einem Online Format, aber auch die Schaffung eines eigenständigen, filmischen Werkes.

Liquid Loft creates performances in close connection with the practice of other art forms. Across different formats and spatial concepts, the works develop their own recognisable language of forms, realised through professional dance. Choreographic action follows interests that point beyond dance, but always remains choreography. Interdisciplinary exchange not only refers to the productive difference in aesthetic practice in the respective arts, but also sharpens the view of the social environment in which the arts operate. The choreographic process returns to the performance situation.
Many of the artistic works contain installation elements or make use of the formal language of other genres, such as film. Liquid Loft sees the development of these formats as a current and contemporary challenge.
In Foreign Tongues, languages are first and foremost sound and rhythm, ambivalent islands of sound, before they make “sense”. Dialects, regional languages and slang are translated into movement sequences on the basis of dynamics, emphasis and acoustic atmosphere. Language patterns – in the interplay of feeling and intellect – are musically grasped and interpreted gesturally. What may initially seem like a Babylonian confusion of languages, becomes through the respective physical embodiment in space, a form of communication that is much more than its purely linguistic content.
Stand-Alones are various solo movement symphonies that are developed and realised at different performance venues. The concept was originally developed for the Leopold Museum in Vienna and subsequently adapted for spaces such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts Nancy and the Musée d’Art Moderne Paris, followed by versions in public spaces. The aim of filming in urban spaces or in the context of special architecture, as well as in rural surroundings, was to expand the performance series into an online format, but also to create an independent, cinematic work.
