This work interlaces culinary practice with artistic exploration, reimagining the traditional cookbook as a multidimensional structure. At its core, it gathers ingredients as anchors of memory, surrounded by layers of personal and familial recollections, visual imprints and recipes that serve as an archive and a guide. Its layers unfold as a map of interconnected experiences, weaving together stories, places, people and generational knowledge passed through the senses.
The book reflects my urge to preserve this knowledge by reconnecting with my land, family and community in Büyükdere, a village in Central Anatolia. Amid rapid transformation—e.g. the intrusion of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline—it captures a culinary heritage in danger. Drawing on the cycles of nature, the book offers practical guidance to adopt principles of care, growth and transformation in every kitchen.
