    Am Do., 22. Oktober 2020 findet am Paulusplatz 5 in 1030 Wien der OK_INFO DAY der Abteilung statt. In der Zeit von 14 – 18 Uhr bieten Studierende, Lehrende und das Team der Abteilung die Möglichkeit, sich über das Studium Ortsbezogene Kunst zu informieren. 

     

    The department’s OK_INFO DAY will take place at Paulusplatz 5 in 1030 Vienna on Thursday, 22 October 2020. Students, lecturers and the team of the department will be there from 2 until 6 pm to answer all of your questions concerning our program.

    What if we addressed the Anthropocene as a problem of communication?
    What if we tried to actively translate the needs and experiences of non-humans into human language? How to give voice to plants, animals, fungi or places? We read speculative fiction and theory; we enter cringy territories of anthropomorphism; we revive ecofeminist discussions of making kin with animals. We think, read and write together to rehearse non-human speech acts and “speaking nearby” others.

    Formers are short, intuitive exercises that we’ll develop collectively, quickly, and alone. They ask where a work begins and ends. They are melodic, on brand, and focused on the role presentation plays in the construction of meaning. Formers are gestures, disappearing acts, and palimpsests. They are corrupt objects obsessed with their own time.

    Künstlerische Formen wie Minimal Art, Postmodern Dance, Land Art, Performance Art, Aktionismus, postdramatisches Theater, zeitgenössische Tanz-Performance – in all ihren Differenzen – denken Kunst in spezifischen raum-zeitlichen Ökonomien. Sie entwickeln Aufmerksamkeit für performative ortspezifische Bezüge angesichts einer fluiden Welt mit allmählichem Verschwimmen der Grenzen zwischen Öffentlichem und Privatem.
