via zoom meeting: https://eu01web.zoom.us/j/621892353152021 April 29 / 17:00Michael Strasser recherchiert in seiner künstlerischen Arbeit wie sich die Beziehung zwischen Raum und Mensch verändert, wenn etwa dem Wohnraum selbst Raum entzogen bzw. das vorgefundene Material zu einer Skulptur verdichtet wird. Im Radius seiner künstlerischen Praxis initiiert er, mit der Aneignung vorgefundener Raum- und Architektursituationen, ein Offenlegen kultureller und institutioneller Repräsentationssysteme.
Extracting volume from domestic space, or compressing found materials into sculptures have been some of the artist’s applied strategies. Michael Strasser’s work investigates the shifting relationship between space and human. Through the appropriation of found spaces and architectural situations, he initiates the exposure of cultural and institutional systems of representation.

via zoom meeting: https://zoom.us/j/989641423342021 March 04 / 16:00“I went to the cinema with my mother when I was only 4 years old, because she was alone at home with a little kid and wanted to go out and be entertained.” Entlang konkreter und fiktiver Orte, die in ihren Arbeiten auftauchen, geht Marlies Pöschl der Frage nach, wie sich an Drehorten temporäre Gemeinschaften formieren, wie Kino zu einem Ort geteilter Aufmerksamkeit wird.
“I went to the cinema with my mother when I was only 4 years old, because she was alone at home with a little kid and wanted to go out and be entertained.” Along concrete and fictional places in her work, Marlies Pöschl explores the question how temporary communities are being formed at filming locations, how cinema becomes a place of shared concerns.

Welchen Verhältnissen, Formen und Strategien unterliegt das Arbeiten und die Produktivität von Künstler_innen heute, und wie reflektieren sich diese Bedingungen in der künstlerischen Arbeit?

Summer 2021In einer experimentellen Auseinandersetzung mit dem öffentlichen Raum, soll die Schnittstelle zwischen den darin herrschenden gesellschaftlichen und sozialen Normen und den persönlichen und politischen Begehrlichkeiten der oder des Einzelnen ausgelotet werden. Innerhalb des Kurses soll gemeinsam ein Ort bestimmt werden, der als Bühne für performative Interventionen und individuelle Projekte dienen soll, wobei die aktuelle Ambivalenz von Körperlichkeit von zentraler Rolle sein wird.
By an experimental approach to public space, we want to look at the intersections of inherent social norms and the personal and political desires of each individual.
Within the course, we will define a certain public space, that will serve us as a stage for performative interventions and individual projects. The body and it`s current ambivalent state, will play a central role.

POSTPONED to summer semester 2022A forest is not just a place with many trees. The concrete surfaces of cities and exposed soil after timber and coal extraction heat the planet. Let’s sunbathe together on a coal mining heap or a parking lot and let experts tell stories about the world that once was a forest and what happened next and continue this story now ourselves … From May 24–27 we will listen together to lectures, walk through the coal industry city of Ostrava and perform a film on a piece of a naked land.
