2025 January 21 / 17:00This work interlaces culinary practice with artistic exploration, reimagining the traditional cookbook as a multidimensional structure. At its core, it gathers ingredients as anchors of memory, surrounded by layers of personal and familial recollections, visual imprints and recipes that serve as an archive and a guide. Its layers unfold as a map of interconnected experiences, weaving together stories, places, people and generational knowledge passed through the senses.

Ein Kunstraum für Weikendorf
Lecture by Michael Kienzer
Paulusplatz 5, Seminarraum 2. Stock
1030 Wien2024 November 21 / 14:00In his lecture, Michael Kienzer will talk about his work. We invited him to particularly focusing on his project “Ein Kunstraum für Weikendorf“, since the department of site-specific art is currently developing a project there: In 2007, Kienzer transformed the town’s old fire station in Weikendorf into an exhibition space for contemporary art. Since then, every year two artists have been asked to create an exhibition that is shown for several months. Kienzer selected the artists himself up until 2013, after which a jury consisting of local residents was formed. The jury now chooses two artists every year from a list of nominees compiled by the Public Art Lower Austria panel of experts twice every year.

Arts-based research project
Ernst Logar: Reflecting Oil
Petroculture in TransformationOctober 3 – November 15, 2024
Opening: October 2, 2024, 7 pm
AIL Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab
Georg-Coch-Platz 2
Oil constitutes one of the most important resources of the modern age in our global society.
In light of increasing planetary warming, we are on the brink of a radical transformation into a post-fossil era.
For a successful transition towards a sustainable future, understanding our present day culture in terms of its entanglements with the oil industry is a prerequisite.
The exhibition Reflecting Oil, part of the eponymous artistic research project led by artist Ernst Logar,
intensively explores this substance in connection with various concepts and phenomena of our petromodernity.
