    Ein gemeinsames Praxisseminar
    Marie-Claude Poulin und Flora Watzal setzen ihre lehrveranstaltungsübergreifende Zusammenarbeit im Wintersemester 2025 fort. Gemeinsam mit den Studierenden werden performative Skizzen und Konzepte entwickelt und die Schnittstellen zwischen Körper, Raum und Technologie im Kontext orts-spezifischer Kunst erforscht.
    In diesem Zusammenhang schreibt Matviyenko: „Eine kybernetische Prothese […] verschmilzt mittels Rückkopplung mit dem organischen Gewebe des Körpers und dem Nervensystem; der Informationsfluss überschreitet die Grenzen von organischer und nicht-organischer Materie“ (2015).

    A joint practical seminar

    Marie-Claude Poulin and Flora Watzal are continuing their collaboration through a shared teaching format for the 2025 winter term. Together with the students we will develop performative sketches and concepts and explore the intersections between body, space and technology in the context of site-specific art.

    Echoing these entanglements, Matviyenko writes: “A cybernetic prosthesis […] merges with the organic tissue of the body and the nervous system by means of feedback; the information flow trespassing the boundaries of organic and non-organic matter” (2015).

    Over a period of one and a half months, the participants worked on shared projects, bridging the gap of about 9000 km between them.

    Weaving creative endeavours based on personal strategies and sensibilities, 4 artists residing in Vienna were teamed up with 4 artists from Taipei.

    The objective faced by all: What do I want to say to the world right now? The co-creations took place entirely online and explored what it’s like to work with someone you’ve never met before.

    Together, we sat and listened to each other – in two different time zones, times of day and continents.

    Im Kunstraum Weikendorf wurden seit 2007 bis auf wenige Ausnahmen Einzelpositionen ausgewählt, sich künstlerisch auf Raum und Ort einzulassen. In diesem Jahr ist das anders. Im Rahmen einer Kooperation zwischen der Abteilung für Ortsbezogene Kunst und Kunst im öffentlichen Raum – KOERNOE, sind eine Gruppe Studierender und Alumni der Klasse Ortsbezogene Kunst eingeladen, zwei Ausstellungen für den Kunstraum zu entwickeln. Die Frühlingsausstellung wird unter der Leitung von Katrin Hornek mit den Studierenden konzipiert. Für die Herbstausstellung kuratiert Gudrun Ratzinger eine Ausstellung mit den Alumnis Hanna Burkhart, Raphael Reichl und Tsai-Ju Wu.

    Since 2007, with only a few exceptions, individual artistic positions have been selected for the Kunstraum Weikendorf to engage with the space and location. This year it´s different. As part of a collaboration between the Department of Site-Specific Art and Art in Public Space – KOERNOE, a group of students and alumni from the department of Site-Specific Art are invited to develop two exhibitions for the art space. The spring exhibition is developed with current students from the department led by Katrin Hornek. For the autumn exhibition, Gudrun Ratzinger is curating an exhibition with alumni Hanna Burkhart, Raphael Reichl and Tsai-Ju Wu.
