1030 Wien2024 May 2 / 14:00Liquid Loft kreiert Performances in enger Verbindung zur Praxis anderer Kunstformen. Über unterschiedliche Formate und Raumkonzepte hinweg entwickeln die Arbeiten darin eine eigenständige kenntliche Formensprache in professioneller tänzerischer Umsetzung. Choreografisches Handeln folgt Interessen, die über den Tanz hinausweisen, bleibt dabei aber immer Choreografie. Interdisziplinärer Austausch verweist nicht allein auf die produktive Differenz der ästhetischen Praxis in den jeweiligen Künsten, sondern schärft vielmehr den Blick für das gesellschaftliche Umfeld, in dem die Künste handeln. Der choreographische Prozess kehrt dabei immer wieder zurück in die Aufführungssituation.
Liquid Loft creates performances in close connection with the practice of other art forms. Across different formats and spatial concepts, the works develop their own recognisable language of forms, realised through professional dance. Choreographic action follows interests that point beyond dance, but always remains choreography. Interdisciplinary exchange not only refers to the productive difference in aesthetic practice in the respective arts, but also sharpens the view of the social environment in which the arts operate. The choreographic process returns to the performance situation.

1030 Wien2024 March 13 / 16:00WIR SIND HIER is a digital cartography project claiming remembrance in public space, from city streets to monuments, through the voices and demands of survivors and families of victims of racist and antisemitic violence. As a living archive, it invites users to imagine how remembrance could and should look like today as an active form of resistance and change. By scrolling over the names of victims, users of the platform are given an overview of right-wing extremist attacks and police brutality in Germany and the former GDR within the last 40 years, including cases that have not yet been properly recognized as hate crimes by state and local authorities.

1030 WienSummer 2024Als Ortsbezogene Kunst wird üblicherweise Kunst definiert, die sich auf einen bestimmten Ort (Site) bezieht und für diesen entwickelt wurde. Entsprechend dehnbar ist der Begriff der Ortsspezifik, und es gilt seine Bedeutung immer wieder neu zu verhandeln und zu diskutieren, nicht zuletzt angesichts des Postdigitalen Zeitalters. Genau das möchte der Kurs anstoßen, die Diskussion des Begriffs in Bezug auf zeitgenössische Kunstproduktion, auch die der Studierenden selbst.
Site-specific art is usually defined as art that relates to a specific location (site) and was developed for this location. The concept of site-specificity is correspondingly elastic and seems to be subject to a constantly changing definition. Its meaning needs to be renegotiated and discussed, not least in view of the post-digital age. This is precisely what the course aims to initiate, the discussion of the topic in relation to contemporary art production, including that of the students themselves.

1030 WienSummer 2024Welche Rolle spielt Sprache dafür, dass die Idee, dass es zwei Geschlechter gibt, so langlebig ist?
Wie sind Wahrnehmungen durch Sprachkonventionen geprägt? Und sind sie durch andere Sprachhandlungen hinterfragbar, herausforderbar, veränderbar?
Ist Sprache gewaltvoll? Welche Rolle kann Sprache spielen in einer Entnormalisierung von Gewaltverhältnissen? Kann Sprache in herrschende Vorstellungen im öffentlichen Raum intervenieren?
Gibt es ein Sein ohne Sprache? Gibt es ein Sein mit und in Sprache, welches gewaltfrei ist?
Diesen Fragen nähert sich die Lehrveranstaltung ausgehend von unterschiedlichen Sprachhandlungen und wendet diese in eigenen kleinen Projekten auf den öffentlichen Raum an – auf Benennungspraktiken, Gesprächsverläufe, Beschilderungen öffentlicher Orte, durch öffentliche Poesie, Sprechhandlungen, Fragen.Das Seminar findet größtenteils auf deutsch statt. Dafür ist es notwendig deutsch lesen und verstehen zu können. Die eigenen Redebeiträge können auf Englisch sein.
Does language play any role in the conservation of a binary gender system?
In how far are perceptions dependent on linguistic norms and conventions? Is it possible to question these linguistic conventions? To challenge them or even to change them?
Is language a form of violent actions? Can language denormalize discrimination structures? Can language intervene into dominant and powerful ideas in public space?
Is there any form of human being beyond and without language? Is there any form of human being in and with language, which is not part of violent structures?
These are some of the questions we are going to discuss in our seminar. We will observe different linguistic actions in public spaces, we will learn form artistic projects focussing on linguistic practices and we are going to create small projects to reflect on possibilities and limits of linguistic interventions into public space – including forms of address, conversations, public signs and poetry, speech acts and different forms of questioning norms.The seminar requires basic competencies in German. It will be held in German mostly. It is necessary that you can understand written and spoken German. It is possible to speak English.

They emanate from and create temporary forms of collectivity and participation, cooperation and co-creation, from their conception up to their realisation and reception. This is where their political potential lies and what we will investigate together, through artworks, texts and case studies.

An der Peripherie und im Zentrum schauen wir, wo Kunst zu finden ist: Orte, wo Kunst produziert und präsentiert wird (Ateliers und verschiedene Ausstellungshäuser); städtische Räume im Wandel, die für künstlerische Auseinandersetzung interessant sein können, ebenso wie diverse Orte mit Kunst im öffentlichen Raum.

10 tours take us to 10 of Vienna’s 23 districts. On the periphery and in the centre, we look at where art can be discovered: places where art is produced and presented (studios and various exhibition venues); urban spaces in transition that show potential for artistic exploration, as well as various sites with art in public space.

1030 WienSummer 2024Der Kurs setzt sich mit performativen Formaten auseinander, die künstlerisches Zusammenkommen und Zusammenarbeiten problematisieren und dabei aktuelle ästhetische und politische Diskussionen fokussieren.
Die Studierenden entwickeln einzeln oder in Gruppe eigene Arbeiten. Die Präsentations- und Dokumentationsart ist offen. Die performativen Scores, Skripte, Skizzen, Szenarien etc. werden in der Gruppe besprochen und am Ende des Semesters präsentiert.
